I am a multi-disciplinary, multi-modal transportation, smart cities and technology expert with profound market and operational insight. I am deeply familiar with the breadth of mobility issues that cities and countries are facing and possess a profound understanding of the smart mobility and transportation market from all perspectives (operators, governments, suppliers, shippers, passengers, residents and visitors), developed over 25+ years of urban and transportation experience in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and across the United States. My insight and experience spans numerous transport modes including rail (passenger and freight) aviation, mass transit, maritime, connected vehicles, highways/roadways, and mobility-as-a-service as well as smart city innovations in transport as well as other domains within smart cities (e.g., economic development, public safety, government operations, etc.), as well as a deep understanding the issues, opportunities, constraints, and solutions for success in this sector. I previously served as the Director of Smart Cities Strategy for Oracle and am currently leading Gartner Consulting’s transportation work as a Director at Gartner Consulting, the consulting arm of Gartner, the world’s largest independent technology research and advisory firm.

I possess key insight into city and transportation operations, planning, security, and strategy, and on technological innovation and strategy in transportation, including 5G, AI, facial recognition, architecture, cloud, edge, big data and analytics, IoT, machine learning, technology modernization, and V2X connectivity and how these are transforming transportation through increased efficiency, profitability/savings, improved service quality or expanded service areas, insightful operating data, and/or enhanced customer/passenger experience, though at times can create new challenges, such as on privacy, safety, and other social or market impacts.

As part of my global work, I have developed thought leadership on a broad range of emerging topics in transportation and smart cities and have advised clients across organizational types to include railroads, transit authorities, airport authorities, port authorities, cities, states, US Federal agencies, national governments, bilateral organizations, and corporations and technology companies.
